Buddy System

Our Buddy System

At Auckley school the school council has recently introduced  and funded a buddy system. We wanted to give the older children some responsibility at break times and minimise any chance of bullying on the playground as we believe all children have a right to feel safe and happy at school and should never feel left out or alone.

Our buddies are made up of 6 key stage two children who voluntarily wear orange high visibility vests . These vests have the word BUDDY written on the rear and the school logo on the front. Any child at break time who feels left out or alone will approach a buddy and they will make sure they have a friend to play with.

We are thrilled with the positive feedback we have had since this system was launched.
