Ikea project.
We are so excited to tell you that we have won a very prestigious IKEA grant of £2000 to develop a sustainable vegetable garden in school. Over twenty schools entered the competition and four were invited to the IKEA depot at Armthorpe to present their idea to a panel of five judges. The school was represented by: Hannah Collins, Elissia Cordova, Tom Reeves, Max Rutherford, Alec Reynolds and Meagan White. They gave a very professional presentation and answered all questions put to them in a Dragons Den style interview.
We are thrilled to receive this money which will now be put to very good use in creating a vegetable garden. The produce will be used in school dinners and there should be school grown vegetables available to buy! We also will be creating an area where we can enjoy learning all about healthier choices and we can even have our lessons outside in the warmer weather.
We would like to share the progress with you along the way so please keep popping back to see how it is coming along.
We could not of done this without Miss Cooper who initiated the bid and also a special thank you to Mrs Reynolds, Mr Reynolds and Mr Blaylock for helping us prepare for our big day.

Please come and see the progress we have made, we cannot wait for the warmer weather so that we can get planting again!
